Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Iowa

life estate

my mother has a life estate in which she transferred ownership of her home to me eight years ago. this was done because it's what my father wanted before his death and because i took care of him during his five year illness and now take care of her in her later life. now my brother is raising a stink and says he is entitled to half the estate. he is a co-owner on some cds but not the house. i was wondering if he has any legal recourse. he is threatening my mother by threatening to disown her and threatens to sue me and put her home in jeopardy of being taken by a nursing home should should she have to go to one. isn't this a form of elder abuse?

Re: life estate

not nice behavior and emotional blackmail but I don't feel it would be classed as elder abuse.
