Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Israel

No alternative but to sign

My wife is making me sign a child custody document as a precondition for her to immigrate to the United States with our children. If I don't sign, she will not come. Can I write on the document while signing it in front of a lawyer that I have no alternative but to sign, and that I am being forced? I wasn't sure whether this is a question on Israeli law or international law.

Re: No alternative but to sign

Dear Sir,

I do not know if you and your wife are Israeli or US citizense and where are the life-center of eatch one of you.

What i do understand is that you do not want to give your wife (ex-wife ?) custody over your children and feel that you are being forced to sign ! In this case - don't sign it !

If your wife wants to go to the US and is setting a precondition that you do not desire - you can file a motion to the court and ask for a more fair aggriment.

I think that such a motion should be filed to an Israeli court, but i need some more information about your family to be sure.

Please feel free to contact us.
