Legal Question in Family Law in Italy

Married in Italy, Divorced in Massachusetts

My friend was married in Italy for 22 years, came to the United States and was then divorced 2 years later. The husband remarried and has since passed on. Is my friend entitled to any form of Social Security from either the United States and/or Italy?

Please advise.

Thank You!

I do not know anything about Italian law, but the usual rule in the US is that if you are married for more than 10 years you are a widow for social security purposes. YOu should check with the SS office nearest you.
