Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Kansas

May a District Court simply ignore a lawsuit seeking to enforce two awards by the Kansas Board of Workers Compensation Appeals by refusing to do anything? The law (K.S.A. 44-512a) requires that the orders be enforced in District Court. But a lawsuit filed in 2007 in a case now 20 years old has seen no action whatever. This is despite two board orders in my favor against an insurance company, hundreds of thousands in penalties and interest and a 20-year span since the first heart attack in 1990, ruled compensable unanimously in 1997, and a second attack in 2003 ruled compensable for future, lifetime benefits on Nov. 27, 2002. Both orders were affirmed unanimously by the Kansas Court of Appeals

A matter this complicated is better asked of your attorney. If you are acting Pro Se, then it may just be that you do not know how to move your case along. due to budget cutbacks, many cases are lingering without active pursuit. The Court generally do not choose to ignore board orders. But, they are not always bound by them.

Good luck
