speedy trial,dates

I have been falsely accused of indencent liberties with a child. my question is in the state of kansas do i have a speedy trial and if i do how long? also can the plaintiff change the date on when the event happened in the middle of the trial.

Your speedy trial time starts running when you are bound over for trial, which means after your preliminary hearing. It is 90 days if you are in jail, 180 if you are out. If the evidence at trial suggests the dates of the alleged crimes are incorrect, they can be changed at that time. This is common in child sex abuse cases because small children are not good at remembering dates.
