Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Divorce

My husband is divorcing me. We have no children and have been married 8 years. He has hired a lawyer and we are negogiating a settlement. We don't have that many assets to quibble over. Do I need to hire a lawyer and do I have to appear at the court on July 12, when the divorce is final?

Re: Divorce

You may be entitled to separate maintenance, a Qualified Domestic Relations Order if he has a pension, and other rights which may be lost if you sign a Propery Settlement Agreement without counsel. I would strongly suggest that you consult with an attorney as soon as possible.
