Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

Divorce in Kansas. Married for 18 years with three kids (16, 12, & 10). I have been the primary breadwinner for family during this time. We own a home (still have a mortgage) & two cars(cars are paid off). I want to make sure that they are taken care of and can stay in the house if they choose too. I can probably pay 70% of my current salary. Do you think that this would be agreeable?

Your obligation to pay child and spousal maintenance will be calculated based on the parties' respective incomes and various other secondary factors. Minor children do not get to choose where they live, although the preference of older childer may be taken into consideration. Normally, the combination of child support and spousal maintenance will not be as much as 70%, especially if you are referring to a gross salary figure. Consult an experienced divorce attorney.
