Legal Question in Family Law in Kansas

My husband stays in KS and I stay in NC. When he files for divorce, would I need to get an attorney in NC or in KS?

Preferably, you'll find am attorney near you that is licensed to practice in Kansas. Only someone licensed there can represent you in a Kansas case. You might contact the NC Bar association. I believe that there are NC attorneys that are licensed in KS or are parts of firms that have offices with KS licensed attorneys. If that isn't fruitful, contact the Kansas Supreme Court (perhaps through the web site) and find KS licensed attorneys that have offices near you, or who are accepting out of state clients.

Good luck
