Bench trial
I am being sued by my former employer, and the court has determined that a "bench trial" is appropriate. Why am I not granted a jury of my peers? and can I require that I have a regular trial?

You can have a jury trial by paying the jury fee. I am not clear whether you have filed a written response, but that is very important. It doesn't sound like you have a lawyer; and if the employer does, you will be at a distinct disadvantage.
