Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky

endagering welfare of a minor

My wife got a ticket for parking infront of a store, leaving the car running with our 10 month old twin boys in the car seats. She was returning merchandise and looking out the store front when she saw a cop approach. She ran out of the store and got to the car before the cop and said she would move the car. He said ''no'' and gave her a ticket for parking in a fire lane and 2 counts of endagering the welfare of a minor. Do we need an attorney? What is the worst that can happen? What is the likely scenario?

Re: endagering welfare of a minor

I would recommend an attorney. The most likely result will be probation of some sort or a fine and court costs involved as prosecutors and police do not look favorably on leaving children in the car when it is hot outside even if the car is running.
