Legal Question in Criminal Law in Kentucky
juvenile assault upon adult
Recently there was a domestic dispute in my house, I am a minor shy 2 weeks and the girl that lives at home with my mother and I is 18. I beat her up and now she is pressing charges and I don't think she can legally do that, or can she?

Yes, a juvenile can be held to answer for an assault.
Instead of taking out a warrant, though, the complainant
must take out a petition against the juvenile (which
serves the same purpose).

The fact that you are but 17 is not a defense to your alleged assault of the girl living there. The question of whether you are treated as a juvenile or an adult by the cruminal justice system is another question.
