Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

what are the chances of regaining custody

Im a 23yr old mother of two. I left my x husband in the spring n was manipulated into giving my son who is 5 to my husband then when i needed to move to TX to get a new start on life he did the same with my dtr so yes i voluntarily gave them to him. I know being scared of him was no excuse but I didnt realize that at the time and I was living in a rather disgusting apt for lack of better description so I was afraid he was going to take them from me even if I fought for them in court. Now beggining to get back on my feet some I realized my mistake was not to fight him in court for my children and I want them to be with me. I was very financially unstable so I felt only for that time period they may be better off with him. However he has told me that an attorney told him I can never get them back because I voluntarily gave them to him meaning there was no court order making me do so I just signed them over. The status is joint custody with him having the primary custody.

Please help me with any information you may have and one last thing please.....I now live in TX and they are in KY so which state do I need to get my attorney in.

You would need a KY attorney and you have an uphill and expensive legal battle on your hands.
