Legal Question in Family Law in Kentucky

My divorce was final September 17, 2012. My xwife was awarded in the divorce papers 1/2 of my retirement/pension for the value that resided in the account. I submitted my divorce papers to my company that would cut the check to her, but they're telling me these are not court ordered papers and they need "court ordered" papers. What is the difference between my divorce papers and court ordered papers? I'm working with HR about having the child support taken out of my check automatically and they're saying the same thing?

They will require a Qualified Domestic Relations Order that has very specific provisions. It is a specialized order and you will likely need an attorney to make sure it is done correctly.
