is it legal for a 17 year old to leave home with out is getting in trouble?

The key to your question is "without getting into trouble". I know you did not mean it this way, but in Kentucky, a 17 year old can live apart from parents or other guardian with the permission of parents (or guardian) so long as they do not get into trouble. The 17 yr old must be able to meet their needs and must be responsible.
