If I am a resident of one state and havea traffic accident in another can a person inthe state whereI had the accident sue me in my home state?

It depends on the laws of the state. In Florida, the answer would be yes.

Yes. They can also sue you in the state where you caused the accidnet (which is where suit will be filed 99% of the time).
