Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Kentucky

Neglect Charge(juvenile summons)

Today a sheriff delivered a summons to me in the interest of my 7yr old daughter. I am to go to court June20 of this year. This is the offenses codes: Chg#1

UOR Cd 0028140

KRS#620070

Description NEGLECT ACTION-UJC (O)(X)

I called the name of the person that filed this, spoke to a person in that office and they said it was a truancy hearing....why is it filed under neglect? As far as the codes above, all seem to fall under just neglect...nothing about truancy, I hope someone can decipher all of this for me. I need to know if I need to seek an attorney.

Re: Neglect Charge(juvenile summons)

You should seek an attorney as this is a serious charge. Any truancy comes under the heading of educational neglect of a child, that is why it is listed as such.
