Banruptcy and Civil Lawsuits

I am in the prosess of filing chapter 7 and now I have a civil lawsuit (personal injury)that is going to trial. Can I go ahead and file Chapter 7 and include this lawsuit? Will it stop my trial from continuing. There are also other parties included in the lawsuit.

I can't tell from your post if you are the plaintiff or defendant in the personal injury lawsuit. If you are the plaintiff, the trustee will take control of your case and any recovery will be distributed to your creditors. If you are the defendant, by all means include the claim, as the automoatic stay order will stop the lawsuit against you. Did you ask the attorney who is filing your bankruptcy what to do?
