Louisiana law often allows you to file suit in more than one venue and more than one court. You can ALWAYS sue a defendant where they are domiciled. You can also sue other places. For example, in a suit on a contract, you can sue where the contract was signed or where any work was performed on the contract. For an accident or personal injury accident, you can also sue where the accident occurred or where any damages or injuries were sustained. Look to the Louisiana Code of Civil Procedure, which you can find in any law library open to the public. The articles on venue are, I believe, Articles 42 to 72, something like that.
