civil rights for a patient in hospital incorcerated .
My family member 400 miles away . I am asked to make medical dissions for a relative that I can not have contact with . He is on 3 different life suport and in two weeks I will have to make the dission to remove if he lives that long . He is incorcerated paralized can't speak shot in the face . Not even a phone call is allowed to hold up to his ear so he can have me ask a question so he can nod his head . As next of kin what is my rights . As a man under arrest in a hospital bed with 10% or less as of now what are his rights. Everyone has a right to one phone call . Even death row inmates get to see family members . Because he is not in jail but in a hospital chained to a bed paralized he can't have visitation . There is no escape risk factor He is on life suport . Tubes breathing for him .

Sorry about your relative! At least the cops have taken him to the hospital. You say you are asked to make medical decisions for your relative, but you do not state who is asking you to do so, or what the legal basis may be for your having to make those medical decisions. What state is your sick and injured relative in? What state are you in? At all reasonable times an attorney is entitled to confer with his client; and, also, once a defendant is arrested and is in custody, he is entitled to confer with an attorney. These rights are both constitutional and afforded otherwisie by law. Of course, there is a lot more to this matter than you are stating in the premise to your question, and there is a lot more to this matter than I am stating in this answer to your question.
