If I lend someone my car and they cause the car to get towed, who is liable for the cost of the towing?

If they parked your car illegally and caused it to be towed, they are responsible for the cost of that tow (and the parking ticket). If the car was towed for something that was your fault (previous tickets, no license, etc.), you are responsible. If you both were responsible for it (e.g., they parked illegally AND you had previous unpaid tickets), you both may owe a portion of it. If they are responsible and won't pay for it voluntarily, you can sue them in small claims court for the money.
