Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Louisiana

I bought a motorhome and it's registered in my name only. If I die, is my wife financially responsible for the payments?

Your heirs are responsible to pay your debts if they accept your assets when you pass away. Your heirs can't just take the assets and not the debts. They can renounce the entire estate (whcih some do when the assets are less than the debts), but they can't just take the assets without paying the debt.

That being said, after the death of a debtor, most creditors will work with their heirs to take much less on the debt than what is owed.
