Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

I was at a party where marijuana was present but I wasn't consuming any. When cops came and broke up the party they charged everyone in the room I was in with possession of marijuana. I was not only not in possession of any marijuana but I had not partaken of it and had no intention too. The officers gave me a court date summons but I was not asked to sign it. The court date is on a day where I will not be domiciled in the state, although I will be about a month later. Given that I was asked to sign nothing am I officially being charged with anything and if so how easy would it be for me to get my court date moved around and what are the chances that I might be convicted?

Get a lawyer. Wherever you are if you miss court there might be a warrant issued for your arrest. Also your defenses must be explored by capable counsel.

In the future, if you are at a party where people are taking drugs, leaving is probably a good idea.
