Legal Question in Criminal Law in Louisiana

can a person be convicted of gun charge if theres no finger prints on weapon,

Because a police officer said he saw in a pictch dark area in lots of apartment buildings that a persons threw it but they lied because they used flash lights to fine the item and it could have belonged to anyone around there.why didn't they do finger prints? It took them over an hour so if he saw it why did they have to look so long. Keep in mind this is a street where lots of people live. This person ran because he had a $5 bag of weed in his pocket which he is a user but there try to give him 10 to 15 years of his life away from his four childern.

Yes a person can be convicted of possessing a firearm even if there are no fingerprints.

As to the other things you mentioned, you should discuss them with your lawyer.
