Dear Law Guru Friend,

The only difference between a

covenant marriage and a regular marriage

is that you have to have been separated for

at least a year before a divorce can be granted

in a covenant marriage situation. You might

click on the Louisiana Legislature web-site and

then on Louisiana Laws and then on the Civil

Code and then search for the term "covenant

marriage" and you might become an :"expert"

on covenant marriages. I shall be happy to

help, if you will but e-mail me your name and

phone number, and I will get back with you

by e-mail and/or phone to discuss this matter

with you further. Of course, there is no charge

for my help.

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, J.D.
