Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Louisiana

I co-signed for a friend, he didn`t pay the bank notes, $3000 +, can I do anything about this in court, I have been payin the note for about a year now. Thanks a lot.........rick

You cannot avoid payment to the lender, but you can file suit against the debtor for full reimbursement of the money you spent on his loan.

Co-signing a loan is a very serious thing. You become just as liabile for the debt as the borrower. You should never do it unless you are prepared to pay for the loan yourself.
