Re: INsurance

Dear Friend,

I am not accustomed to reprersenting health-care provideres, so I am not the best person to answer your question. My guess is that one does not have to have such insurance. For example, such services would be professional services, and I know that lawyers do not have to have professional liability insurance in order to practice law. I would imagine the same is true of medical doctors, as well as of other health-care providers. Over the years I have been associated and may have even represented one or more chiropractors, and they do not have to have professional liability insurance. Now keep in mind I am speaking only of Louisiana. Of course, there may be lawyers more qualified to answer your question; but for the time's being, this is the best answer you have. If I can be of help to you in finding out the absolutely correct answer, feel free to call on me! I am a strange lawyer inasmuch as I do not charge for just talking over the phone I have recently purchased and excellent new set of LOUISIANA STATUTES ANNOTATED, and I am sure I can find the answer for you there. Good luck to you!

Sincerely,

Hardy Parkerson, Atty.
