Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Louisiana

my mechanic has had my volkswagon for two weeks replacing parts. now he says it has to to to dealer for programing because he is unable to repair. Do I have to pay for him replacing parts when he knew he was unable to repair the problem?

You have to pay him for any work he did, parts installed as long as you authorized them.
