Legal Question in Product Liability in Louisiana

Food Poison Case

i have a brother in Louisiana that had food poisoning about a year ago and he became ill and seeked medical attention as a result of this food poisoning. a settlement offer was made but no where near what he feels the case is worth. he claims his medical expenses far exceed the settlement amount and feels the case is worth a lotta money . i assume he will consult another attorney but all i wanna know is, are these kinda cases big money cases? would u happen to know the largest monetary amount awarded in this kind of case anywhere in the United States. if so please let me know so i can pass it on to my brother in Louisiana so he can move on and get this thing resolved. please answer me as soon as u can. i thank u for your time.
