Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Louisiana

We own property that is next to an auto dealership in a rural area. The dealership owner has decided that he would cut the grass with a lawn mower on our property along the road near his dealership to enhance the look of the area. We cut the grass of our ajoining property (not right on the road) with a bush hog a couple of times a year.

Granted - it looks nicer when cut regularly with a lawn mower than a couple of times a year with a bush hog, but we are concerned that with his continued maintenance of that propeety he could lay claim to it through "squatters rights" at some point.

Is it possible to claim ownership to someone's property if you simply maintian it? We pay the taxes on the property every year so we should be proving ownership every year I would think.

Not as long as the owner maintains ownership- pays taxes, inspects the property, etc
