Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Louisiana

Upset about situation

The company I work for is doing a job at a local hotel cleaning up after renovations, on the job site or other contractors as well. This past Thursday while cleaning up one of the rooms one of the painters came into the room asking me questions that were not work related and unwanted . I felt uncomfortable about the situation and proceeded to leave the room when the man stood in front of the hotel room door blocking me from getting out, I asked him several times to move and let me out the room , he refused to budged and continued to say things to me until he heard my boss and coworker talking outside the room which I then pushed passed him and got out the room immediately telling me boss what had just happened, the man rushed passed us and left. I will be working at this job site for some time, and was wondering what I should do about this situation and what actions should be tooken as I do not wish to be made to feel that way again.

Re: Upset about situation

You have told your supervisors. That is the first step. I would suggest asking them to go to the general contractor and the painting subcontractor and complaining to them on your behalf.

Since the painter is not an employee of your company it must be reported to someone who has authority over him.
