Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana
My father (83) is planning to "will" me his house upon his death. It is worth about 85,000. My only other sibling agrees, but wants choice of the contents. Will I have to pay an inheritance tax? file on my income tax? pay anything? If yes to any question, what can my father do NOW to prevent this?

Louisiana no longer has inheritance taxes.
An inheritance is not considered as income.
