Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Louisiana

My niece has Power-of-attorney for my sister, who has dementia. My nephew has noticed that a sum of money was removed from my sister's bank account and then closed the account, without any answer or reason to my nephew. Does my nephew have the right to know the disposition of this money, since he knows that the money was not spent on his mom?
