Re: How to go about ''Reduction of Modified Sentence''

Your friend has to file a written motion in the clerk's office of the court where he or she was sentenced asking the judge to reduce the sentence. Your friend should explain all the reasons why the sentence should be shorter and also say that he or she has been on good behavior since the sentencing. Your friend has 90 days from the date of the sentence to file this motion. Your friend has to mail a copy of the motion to the State's Attorney's Office and state that he or she did this at the bottom of the motion.
