Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Incomplete community service?

In 1996 when I was 21 I was arrested for possession (marijuana) in a state park. I received a pbj and was stet docketed. my commmunity service was moved to pg county md. I completed some but not all of the service. At this point I am not sure what status would be on my record. What are the reprecussions? What can I do to resolve now?

Your probation before judgment has a possibility of or may already have converted to a conviction due to not completing the terms of your probation. You are strongly advised to contact an attorney and to address the matter as soon as is practicable.

Your stetted charge may have been rescheduled for trial upon a request of the state's attorney within a year of the date it was stetted. After a year a rescheduling of trial may have occured upon a court order. What were the circumstances surrounding your failure to complete probation? Have you changed residences? A change in address could have affected your ability to receive any notices from the court. Were you represented by an attorney eight years ago? If so, you may wish to contact him or her first. Your attorney should have all of your records.
