Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

I missed a court date for driving on a suspended lisence in Baltimore county MD I went to pay some other tickets today and they said I have a $25000.00 bail on that case. I cant get my lisence back in Delaware until I take care of that. I am also wanted in Anne Arundel county MD for a drug paraphenalia charge. My question is this Is there any way that if I turn myself in they will just reschedule my court date and drop the bail? and will they hold me until anne arundel county comes to get me? These cases are over a year old but I have to take care of them. What is the best course of action I should follow to try and reschedule them and stay out of jail?

You probably want to get a lawyer to try to quash the warrant, or at least be ready for a bond review hearing so that you are not held for 2 months pending trial. This should be relatively easy on the paraphernalia, but $25K on a driving suspended sounds ridiculous. Do you have a lot of priors?

If you turn yourself in, there is zero chance that they will just reschedule your court date and drop the bail. You need to hire a Maryland criminal defense attorney ASAP. He can attempt to resolve some or all of these issues without you appearing and taking the chance of getting sent to jail, but there's no guarantee at this point that won't happen. HIRE AN ATTORNEY IMMEDIATELY.

Best of luck.

You should make arrangements for both bails and be prepared to wait in custody for transfer to the other jurisdiction. If you have good reasons for missing court and allowing the warrants to remain outstanding for a year, then the courts may recall the warrants, but that is unlikely. If you are willing to wait in custody for bail reviews, you might get lower bails, but the court can increase bail too. Bail reviews are not held on holidays and weekends.

A trial lawyer can contact the Court and try and get the warrant recalled and the case set for trial. The chances of you doing this on your own are slim and none. Talk to a criminal lawyer before you turn yourself in.
