Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

Theft over 500/Theft over 500/Theft scheme 500 plus

I am being charged TOMORROW with this and was unable to hire an attorney due to finances.

The States Attorney said he would offer PBJ if I plead guilty to the scheme pay the restitution.

Now we have lost our home, and must be out by 8-15 - we have a house in Texas. Do you think they will allow me to move??? Can I plead guilty with explination?

Without seeing the information and hearing your explanation it is difficult to say whether the offer of PBJ is appropriate. Other details are needed to properly represent you. Your financial position may preclude access to a public defender and you may decide that private counsel will better represent your interest. Request a continuance based on seeking counsel. Should a continuance issue contact me at 410.750.2567 to discuss your case further.

Definitely give an explanation. But before that, I would even try and get a public defender to make sure the State is not trying to trick you. Ask for a continuance for the PD. And as far as moving, that depends on the judge and on probation. Another reason to get a lawyer.
