Legal Question in Criminal Law in Maryland

unresolved charges

My husband has charges against him in Mmontogomery county maryland (DUI and other traffic) from 1984 that apparently have never been resolved.

It seems he was arrested for DUI but then neglected to take care of the charges and they have now been reported against his drivers license.

What can be done about this? Can he simply pay a fine? does he have to go to court? Can he be convicted of DUI after so much time has gone by? Can he lose his license? Can he get the charges (at least the DUI) dropped?

More than likely, when your husband failed to appear, a warrant was issued for his arrest. You need a criminal lawyer, like myself, to contact the Court, petition for the lifting of the bench warrant, and the placing of his case in for trial. You husband has all the defenses that were available to him in 1984. Talk to a lawyer soon.
