Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

custody

My ex-husband and I have joint custody of my 12 year old daughter since May of 2008. My daughter has made it very clear to me that she does not want to go to her father's house anymore. Is there anything I can do to help her?

Re: custody

You can file a court petition to change custody, but unless there is some evidence of abuse or serious neglect by the father, it's unlikely that a judge would take away visitation just because your daughter doesn't like being with him. A judge might require him to go to parenting classes is there is some evidence that he's not properly fulfilling that role, but judges are loath to take away parental rights.
