Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

My husband and I have been divorced for several yrs. He had taken 2 life insurance policies out and made me owner and sole benefiiciary. I am currently paying for the policies, and he is the insured. We had disability riders placed on the policies when purchased. Now I find out that he is disabled. I found out who his PCP was, and gave them the disability waiver forms to complete which was sent to me by the life insurance company. The life insurance company told me that I didn't need my ex to sign because I owned the policies. I do not have a POA. THe PCP contacted my ex, and he got an attorney. The PCP did not complete the forms. What can I do to get the PCP fill out the forms so that terms of disability riders can be carried out? It does not affect my ex monetarily in any way. He is just being a jerk. What is my recourse? I also as part of my separation agreement, the policies are listed there stating that I am the owner and sole beneficiary. Pls let me know. R,

You should write (or have an attorney write) a letter to your ex's attorney, setting for the facts and stating that unless he can provide a valid explanation for his actions, unless he cooperates by authorizing his PCP to complete the disability forms, you will go to court to get an order requiring him to do so, and you will seek legal fees for having to do so.
