Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

not married and pregnant

I'm not married and got pregnant. I have only known the guy for 6 months. We are not getting along and his parents threated to see the baby more than just every other weekend. I live in Maryland and was wondering legally if I have to allow the baby to spend the night with the father and his parents?

Re: not married and pregnant

The father would have visitation rights, but not necessarily overnight visits at the outset when the baby is very young. The grandparents would have to show either that you are unfit or that extraordinary circumstances exist in order to get court-ordered visitation. So the answer is no, you cannot be forced to allow overnight visits if there is no custody order.
