Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I am a "non resident" or not the parent with physical custody of a child living in MD. A major issue happened to my daughter at school involving inappropriate touching and of course I do not get notified as the non resident parent. Is there a legal document that would require the school to notify me as well as her mother, the one who did not tell me what happened to our daughter?

This can be done most expeditiously if the custodial parent authorizes the school to keep you "in the loop" on anything related to your daughter. Failing that, you can seek a court order or joint legal custody, which if granted would automatically entitled you to such things as medical information about her in addition to school records, etc.
