Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

Paying Child support on my daughter who was adopted by someone else.

my brother signed a paper about ten years ago in Maryland allowing his daughter to be adopted by his ex girlfriends husband. He is still paying child support on the child. What documents does he need and where can he get these documents to proove his daughter was adopted by another man? When we call the Baltimore County Court House they tells us all adoption records are sealed. How can we get the proof we need to proove she was adopted so my brother won't have to be obligated to pay child support?

If the adoption actually went through, your brother should have received the court order reflecting that. He would not be obligated to support the child after that. He will need to file a petition to terminate support in the court where the original support order was entered. Unfortunately, by waiting so long, he won't be able to recover all the money he's paid up to the time he files court papers.
