Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

I filed a complaint in reference to a civil suit I have stating mental anguish and distress. The court denied it stating that there was failure to state a claim. What does that mean and what do I need to o? Thanks !!

It means exactly what it says, the facts you presented in your complaint and follow up papers did not prove the elements necessary to win. Of course, you have an opportunity to appeal. However, take the complaint and order to an attorney to review. Oftentimes, people think its easy to represent themselves. They become victims of simple pitfalls that might have been avoided had they taken the time and money to consult with an attorney first.
