Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Maryland

I recently found that someone had filed a civil case against me in 2003. I don't who it is or what it is about. They have been renewing it fo the past 7 years. How long can a civil lawsuit remain active ?

In all likelihood, the civil lawsuit is no longer active -- a judgment has already been issued against you. In other words, whoever filed the suit is 2003 is not trying to keep it active. Whoever filed the suit in 2003 most likely already has a money judgment against you. Judgments in Maryland must be renewed every 12 years (at the latest) to remain active.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******
