Legal Question in Personal Injury in Maryland

I was shopping in a department store and someone left the security nail exposed on a pair of pants I tried on. When I stepped out of the pants the nail went in the heal of my foot and I began bleeding a lot, I hopped out of the dressing room and got terriable assistance I than went to the ER and stopped the bleeding and got a techtnus shot and some pain pills. I was told to submit the bill to the coorperate office. My question is should they or they liable for punitive/money damages?

You are entitled to recover money for: (i) the full cost of the medical assistance, (ii) lost work/wages as a result of the injury, and (iii) pain and suffering. I know this was a terrible inconvenience, but my suggestion would be to simply submit the bill to the corporate office and let them pay it for you. You would not receive very much, if any, for pain and suffering. You will not get punitive damages.

If they don't pay it in a timely manner, then pony up and hire a personal injury lawyer who may be able to push the matter further.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.********
