Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Name Change for Deed of Trust

I recently had a legal name change, due to my divorce, and would like to have my name changed on my deed of trust. I am the sole owner of this property location. What type of form should I fill out to have this done and is there any type of fee involved? I understand there is a recording fee of $40 at county land records, but wasn't sure exactly what type of form I needed to fill out and get notarized. Any suggestions?

Re: Name Change for Deed of Trust

Since the deed of trust (as opposed to the deed to the property) belongs to the lender, you need to contact them and see what their policy is on this. It's really an unnecessary thing to do, since when the loan is paid off the deed of trust will be released anyway.
