Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Maryland

Sale of Lien to Collect Judgement

Dear Attorney's of LawGuru,

I've obtained a lien on my debtor's home to collect judgement.

I was wondering if I could sale my lien on the home to a realty investor to collet my judgement?

This may sound wrong to some but, is it legal?

Do I need to file a writ of execution before I can sale my judgement or would this be the responsibility of the purchaser?

Thanks for advice, Fay

Yes, judgments can be assigned and there are companies and people who are in business to buy claims and judgments from creditors--at a deeply discounted price, of course.
