Re: can I sue this lawyer for breach

There are no Social Security regulations that require and attorney to keep representing you. Generally, the SS Fee Agreement can be terminated by either party at any time for any reason. So I do not see a general breach of contract.

But there may be an attorney ethical problem if you were not properly advised that the attorney withdrew and further, did not inform you of the status of the case.

BUT, you need very specific proof that the attorney did something unethical. (More than "lead you to believe" something)

You need to make an investment in your case: call Social Security to learn what is happening with your claim. Call your attorney for a status report.

Re: can I sue this lawyer for breach

You probably cannot sue but you could make a complaint to the bar association.
