Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland
do i need a lawyer for driving with a suspended license? but my license is a provisional license.. i pay for my ticket back in 2009 for not stopping at a flashing red light.i never knew that my license was suspended. i never got a notice from court or the mva that my license i suspended. the police officer gave me to citations, one is person driving motor veh.on hwy, public use property on suspended lic & privilege and the second one is driving motor veh. while lic suspended under (17-106, 26-204, 26-206, 27-103. please answer my question i need this ASAP.....

Driving on a suspended license is a jailable offense. It can also result in revocation of your license. Although the chances of going to jail are slim, the impact on your future license is great. In answer to your question as to whether you need a lawyer, the answer is yes.
Whether to have a lawyer depends on whether you feel comfortable enough with statutory law, case law, the rules of evidence, rules of court, and administrative law to risk jail for up to one year and your ability to drive.
