Legal Question in Traffic Law in Maryland

Missing citation and arrest warrant

July 2005 I had my car towed and a puppy taken to the animal shelter. Originally I called the police becasue I thought my car was stolen. When the officer arrived he found out my car had been towed and he told me I was in no trouble. Never received a citation from the police or the animal control officer. The original police officer to the scene for a call about an animal in the car called me a week later telling me he had a citation for me. The police officer who arrived for the stolen car report told me I wasnt in any trouble. The first officer a month later requersted a warrant to be issued for failing to pay for the citation. The second offcier or animal control officer both told me no harm no foul. Now I get a notice that my drivers license and regristration will be suspended for failing to pay for a citation and not apperaing in court. Never got a citation or summons to appera in court. What do I do?

Missing citation and arrest warrant

This is a good example of why you should not listen to the advice of the police. Talk to a lawyer, now. He will get the bench warrant lifted, go to court with you, and, hopefully, get the charges dropped, or not guilty.
